L'omino blu

L'omino blu (The Little Blue Man)
is a character inspired by one of the most representative fairy tales written by the great Italian author Gianni Rodari: the Little Man of the Rain.

The performance is inspired by the text without representing it literally; it captures the character's suggestions, recreates his environment in a dreamlike key and takes its cue from the words of the fairy tale to deal with environmental issues that have become tragically topical.

Are we sure that floods and droughts are caused by the funny little man's long naps?

Or perhaps this brilliant figment of the author's imagination is a way of poetically remedying man-made disasters?

Remedy or no remedy, what one wants to leave behind is a stimulus to reflect on the incumbency of the environmental issue.

Floods and droughts are ever more present events in our daily lives, but the lightness of the character relieves these themes from a catastrophic narrative, preserving the drama but in a poetic sphere that tends to involve the audience on an emotional level.
