Who I am ... and what I have done

the beginnings

After having attended my first workshops and shows as a young man in my Forlì, I met the Argentinian company Teatro Nucleo; it was 1997 and I worked with them as a student actor in Europe, Argentina and Korea. At the Nucleus you learned everything: from selling shows to driving trucks, from the Stanislawski method to welding scenography with a Mexican sculptor who loved Italian wine.

At the same time I encountered street theater which made me a stilt walker, acrobat, juggler, fakir, fire eater and accordionist! How many festivals, re-enactments and nights in the car throughout Italy!

the island

After leaving the NUCLEO, for a year, I walk a tightrope at the circus academy in Cesenatico and try my hand at jumps and falls with the Russian acrobat Igor Matyushenko, "davai Luca"!

In 2001 I landed on an island that would change my life.

In Sardinia, called by the Theatre en Vol company, I begin to explore vertical space as a performance venue in a cheerful street parade where I "threw" myself from a bell tower! There I also had the opportunity to meet the legendary Antoine Le Menestrel and Wanda Moretti.

In addition to the stage, because in street theater you are not just an actor, I have always been involved in the promotion and sale of shows, workshops and support for the artistic and organizational direction of festivals ("La piazza dei Sogni" in Nuoro, "Girovagando " in Sassari, "The flight, the theater and the moon" in Carmignano in Tuscany, ...) I acquired those skills of "cultural entrepreneurship" which allowed me to take a further step...a leap, almost a flight!

(brief heartfelt parenthesis: I meet Agostina, the mother of our children)

how to make a company

I suggested to my brother that he join the Sardinian parade in 2003. At the end of 2006 we understood that it was time to deal only with vertical and aerial shows: we founded Eventi Verticali.

I am the president of the association and with Andrea the artistic director, director of the shows, performer, rigger,... we produce vertical theater shows on buildings, towers, dams, screens (with video projections) until we even manage to learn how to build some flying stages with the help of the great Forlivese engineer Franco Faggiotto: these are aerial structures made up of aluminum trusses and sheets, hung from large cranes! The Quadro and Cubo shows are born... then I fall in love with everything that is inflatable and we hang a giant transparent ball with the performers anchored inside and outside.

The shows tour the most important festivals in the world, in more than thirty states from Taiwan to Turkey, from

United States to China, from Canada to Korea, Russia and most European countries. We create events, ad hoc projects and artistic direction for Audi, BMW, Iren, ABenergie on the "Campanone" in Bergamo, Enel on Palazzo della Signoria in Florence, CAI on the Ridracoli dam and we direct the Musicarte Festival for some years

the turning point

...and in short. You couldn't go higher than that... so I needed to go deeper.

At the end of 2022 I left the company in the hands of Andrea to undertake a personal artistic journey that pursues theatrical communication from which its own poetic form arises.

I am oriented towards seeking collaborations and stimulating interdisciplinary networks.

a new Wanted

When I left the company I took with me “Wanted”, the show that came closest to my way of understanding vertical theatre. Born in 2012, the show made up of video scenographies sets and vertical acrobatics has collected hundreds of replicas around the world. So I decided to make a 2.0 version by deepening and redirecting the dramaturgy, having Francesca Ruggieri create new video sets and working on the characters together with the eclectic performer Silvia Proietti. to share

I feel a strong need to delve deeper into the training field by testing myself as a pedagogue to share my knowledge and experience.

I like to introduce vertical dance to even those who have never imagined themselves as flying acrobat! And I can do it thanks to the meeting with BeFit in Ravenna; in the 1220 m2 gym, 15m high, in addition to teaching, I also set up resident shows where, in collaboration with the staff, I connect the skills of competitive rhythmic gymnastics with the experience in the disciplines of contemporary circus.

I also intend to structure professionalization paths in vertical dance and contemporary circus.
